“Beast Without Beauty”

Yet another gaze: firm, cold, icy, merciless on society.

An irreverent, cynical study of the archetypes of human misery, of inexpressiveness, of the despicable cruelty in interpersonal relationships.

Losers in a superficial relationship, they face each other in an icy duel; at stake is the affirmation of a role, an identity, a social position, survival.

There are no rules, everything is allowed: we lend ourselves to being prey, designated victims of the other, we are aware of it, we just wait for it to happen, and in our turn we are ready to pounce, offend, cleave, crush, tear to pieces, to finish him off ruthlessly, but without getting our hands dirty.

An aristocratic perverse game of double-ended courtships, of abuses; a hidden, unspoken, pastel-colored violence that irreparably leads to massacre, to extinction; there will be no winners, only losers. Nothing happens from so much agitation... And then we implode unable to get up, we abandon ourselves but being careful not to ruin the styling, smudge the make-up, crease the suit, not to lose dignity so as not to suffer acts of cannibalism, being devoured by others, by the void, by our voids, by the deaf silence. An attempt to physically tell the evil of living, Beckett's paralysis: a languishing man, desperate to the point of insensitivity, now unable to take control of his life and save it from the misery in which it is swamped. A comedy of the absurd (in which we suffer the absurd despite ourselves) with an existentialist and post-existentialist flavor of Beckett's theater perfectly explained in his "Happy Days".

An authentic plunge into nonsense, a black irony counterpoint to the emaciated pallor of the faces, a fascination in the absurdity of the scenes, in the estrangement from human participation in actions, in facts; bloodless figures, devoid of energy, exhausted and dehumanized, as at the end of a long war, who know they have served no purpose except to harm themselves and do uselessly harm, to become cynics and opportunists in the face of death to the point of contradicting themselves and betraying their playmates.
