L'evento

Eternal conflict between body and soul, between visible and invisible.

The pièce was born as a perfect union between music and dance. The live sound of the marranzani creates a state of exaltation, guided by the desire to surpass oneself, a real journey backwards, an intensification of mental and physical skills and the search for mystical ecstasy.

Joseph Muscarello

Choreographer, dancer, performer, he has been collaborating for over twenty years with numerous Italian dance companies as well as with cinema and theater directors. His career as a solo dancer began in the early 90s and developed in many and varied forms: from 1995 to 1999 he specialized in aerial and acrobatic dances, dancing in numerous European squares.

For years he has been carrying out dance and stage movement training activities for professional dancers and actors throughout Italy. In recent years, he has shown particular attention to the theater by signing the stage movements of numerous theatrical works. In 2012 he collaborated with the director Roberta Torre with the show Insanely Riccardo III staged in 2013 at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan in which, in addition to being an interpreter, he is also the author of the stage movements. In 1999 he founded and directed Muxarte, a dance company, immediately directing his work towards research. The influence of various training courses first and then artistic experiences, leads its founder Giuseppe Muscarello to create a group of young artists from different training backgrounds. Working on various contemporary dance techniques, he thus obtains creations resulting from the personality of each individual element which, to date, are programmed in numerous national and international theaters and festivals. In recent years, Muscarello's path has included studying visual arts, in particular photography, and writing, thus "I am my mother" was born, a photographic project that was on display from 2 October 2016 to 30 March 2017 at Scenario Pubblico , national dance production center. The project also includes a book with the same title published by the Leima publishing house and written by Muscarello himself.

Since 2017 Muscarello has been the artistic director and founder of ConFormazioni Festival of dance and contemporary languages in the name of cultural dissemination and professional training, which takes place in April in Palermo creating a contemporary dance hub in the south and which annually hosts some of the most significant companies of the national and international dance scene.
