“Laalla (Laia)”

Humans, we don't stop migrating. We move between borders and limits, between real, metaphorical and even virtual frontiers, which determine how we inhabit the space and how we walk on the territory, whether we stay or go away. What does "here" mean

mean nowadays? This human "circulation" has also cultivated new social and cultural spheres, new ways of occupying the territory and new forms of creation and collaboration. A border challenge. What does "here" mean nowadays? ..

The author of the piece was born in Mexico where she lived for 26 years, until 2013 when she moved to Barcelona. where his knowledge, perception, location; it also changed his view of Mexico and what migration means, what “nationality” means.

Frida Ocampo

Contemporary dancer, graphic designer and ballet dancer of the Royal Academy of Dance (MEX). In 2011 he dives into contemporary dance with a

independent collective and also works with "La Poderosa" Dir. Sara Dominguez-Petersen and "Las Sangres Danza" Dir. Mijaíl Rojas. In 2013 he moved to Barcelona to study a Master of Artistic Creation at the University of Barcelona, concluding in 2014 with "Augenblick" a video-dance installation. In this city he trained with choreographers such as Francisco Córdova, Nadine Gerspacher, Anne Morin and Sol Vazquez; he performs with international musicians and participates in two video dances. In 2016 he creates the solo "Aurelia" and wins a creation grant from the National Fund of Arts and Culture (MEX) for his new project, created in Toulouse where he lives until now. In France he also works with the circus art.
